Chris mishak, who earned a degree in medical laboratory technology
“I learned pretty much everything that I needed to know about laboratory
science at DCCC many of the clinical applications that I learned there I still
use today either in my medical. It is pretty easy to be successful in school. Is
students work hard and honorably it’s not difficult at all. All students need
to do is to study, put In the time, it’s a simple as that. If students aren’t willing
to study now, it will be very difficult to develop this habit later on. Therefore,
I suggest that students work hard in their studies and at being good people,
doing nothing to get them in trouble during high school by doing so, they will
enjoy success during high school and throughout their lifetime.

Andrea packer
anticipates graduating with a B.A in education from Catawba in December 2011
and then enrolling in the Master of Arts in teaching program from Salem College,
also offered on the Davidson campus. Packer spends her days on the Davidson campus
working 29 hours a week as a teaching assistant for instructors in the DCCC
early childhood education program.
“Not only did
receiving this scholarship make me study harder and be the best I could be, but
it also allowed me to graduate in May 2010 with my associate degree, and I was debt
free. What a wonderful blessing!
If students
work hard during high school, complete all assignments on time, and demonstrate
a bright, positive attitude toward school, learning, and other people, then
they can be highly successful as a high school student and qualify for academic
scholarship also. All they need to do is put in the time, study time. All the
hard work and effort during high school will definitely pay off. They will be
rewarded for their hard work. But if they just mess around during their high
school years and neglect their studies, use drugs, and mistreat others, then
they can except to fall short of what could have been their rewards of
scholarships and their opportunities, and they will suffer in the short and
long term. Invest in yourself. Give yourself opportunities of a lifetime by succeeding
in high school on a super high note. Then you can: write your own student
success story.

what are some issues you see in your community that need attention?
- what are some issues you see in your community that need attention?
- what can you do to help change your community and/or work towards solving these issues?
- well graffiti are some issues in my community it makes it look horrible nasty and make people think that we don't take care of our community or city. poverty is another issue because people that have the opportunity to work or make their life better, they prefer just wasting their time in drinking or gambling and they don't go look for a job.
- what i can do is try to make people think and to make them think better. i should help people paint the walls that has graffiti.

global issues
global issues
poverty is an issue that effects the entire world. it contributes to other problems like crime, violence, an exploitation. watch the following videos paying attention to the problems and that are discussed:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfSRP9lxvTO
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yt54wOBoeQM
GLOBAL ISSUES REFLECTION:
- describe at least one of the issues discussed in as much detail as possible
- what could you do to help solve this issue?
- do you think we have this issue or similar ones here in the U.S? explain why or why not.
- one issue that i saw was when the kids were used to sell drugs or get in to gangs.
- well i cant do nothing because i don't have the resources that i need.
- not really because right here the kids get help from people all around the world. they teach them how to make the right decisions and to always choose the right because your present depends on your future. in Mexico people cant get the same help because the majority are poor and if the people go that help kids in the U.S are just going to waste their time because the kids are going to do the same thing because that's the only way to live over there.

How to succeed in school
How to succeed in school
Part 1
·
Get organized
·
Use good study habits
·
Learn how to take test
·
Believe in yourself
Some experts say the
difference between good students and poor students isn’t mainly ability. Instead,
it’s how students organize themselves to use their abilities.
A little organization can
produce amazing results!
GET ORGANIZED:
ü
Have a homework agenda or
scribbler to keep track of your assignments, and always carry it
ü
Ask the teacher for some
outside help when the classroom explanation is not acceptable for you.
ü
Use scribblers to put you
notes in, and keep them organized
ü
Have phone numbers for
classmates, especially of one who will be your “homework buddy”. This is
someone in your class who collects hand-outs and assignments for you when you
are absent form school. You can borrow your buddy’s notes when you return to
school, and you can do the same for this friend.
ü
Ask questions when you are
unsure of something.
ü
Pay attention in class as
it is very easy to let your mind wander. Take notes, concentrate on what is
being said; it will be easier to absorb the info being presents.
ü
Keep your bookshelf, desk
and kitbag neat.
ü
Be prepared for each class,
bringing the materials you need to class (including pencil and paper).
